The Place To Be Seen

Located on an island, with the option to arrive by boat, Royal Windsor Racecourse is the place to be seen, and with two enclosures we offer a destination for all racegoers to enjoy the action.

While we have no strict dress code, we request that no sporting team shirts or offensive fancy dress are worn across the racecourse. Smart trainers are allowed.

Of our two enclosures, The Club Enclosure has the prime position next to the winning post and has a dedicated big screen for all the racing action. It’s our premier location and as such, racegoers often choose to adopt a smarter style, such as smart trousers or tailored shorts and a collared shirt for the gentlemen, and smart dresses, skirts or trousers for our female guests. Smart jeans are also permitted.

The Grandstand Enclosure has a great view of the track and is located within 75 yards of the winning post. With a ticket for this area, you can access the amenities within the Grandstand Enclosure and Silver Ring areas, as well as the lawn, pre-parade ring, parade ring and winners’ enclosure.

Our dress code here is more relaxed but we always welcome racegoers who dress to impress!

In the winter months for jumps racing, we suggest smart jumpers and jeans. Many of our racegoers like to opt for tweed in the winter for its warmth and style but you are welcome to wear whatever feels warm and comfortable.

With the hotly contested Gentlemen’s Day and Ladies Day best dressed competitions on offer, why not push the boat out and enter to win some fantastic prizes? Over the years we have seen some truly fabulous outfits, and it makes the occasion even more special when you take home the best dressed title!

Ultimately, our priority at Royal Windsor is making sure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience with us. Our race meetings at Royal Windsor are predominantly outdoor events, and as such, we ask all our racegoers to be mindful of the weather when deciding what to wear, dressing warm for the winter and bringing suncream and hats for the warmer months.
