Located a stone’s throw from Windsor and lots of fantastic local attractions, we’re the only racecourse in the country where you can arrive in style by boat! But that’s not the only way to reach Royal Windsor, you can also travel via all the conventional modes of transport. When we asked Mike Parcej, a friend of the racecourse and passionate horse racing fan, here's what he had to say:
"The only racecourse in the UK accessible by boat as a form of public transport!! However more conventionally, the numbers 103, 2, 702, 703 and 8 all drop off on Maidenhead Road, the A308, by the racecourse entrance - the most frequent of which is the No 8 which departs every 30 mins from Windsor Parish Church. Also, the 703 Flightline link bus, and the No 2 service to Dedworth - not so frequent however. The best walking route is along the Thames towpath until the dual carriageway, then under the flyover and straight on - racecourse entrance on the right."
By Bus
When we asked Mike Parcej, a friend of the racecourse and passionate horse racing fan, here's what he had to say:
"The No 8 bus runs from outside Windsor Boys School to Slough, once every 15 minutes stopping on Arthur Road outside the racecourse entrance. Trains from London Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside, and from Slough to Windsor and Eton Central. Slough connects to the line from Paddington to Reading, for cross country connections. French Brothers run the boat connections to the course from Windsor Promenade."
